Due Date Pocket For A Junk Journal or Altered Books

I’m starting to slowly add digitals to The Alchemy Factory shop. A few will be going up each week, so keep an eye out! Today I’m working with the coffee dyed due date pockets.

I printed and cut out 2 sets.

I left one whole and cut the other set to make the pocket. Don’t worry, I’ll use the top half for something else.

I sewed one of them with cream thread. For the other 2, I glued 3 sides down with art glitter glue, I used the metal tip so I could get a nice, fine line of glue. I thought the cream thread was to ‘bright’ on the coffee dyed paper, so I inked it up with some vintage photo distressed ink

After I inked up the thread, I went ahead and inked up the sides too. Nice slight difference.

I think the man popping out of the pocket is my favorite one! The butterflies are from a punch I’ve had for years! The middle one is made with a piece of scrapbook paper that I used a heart stencil with stormy sky ink, finished off with a flower from my shop. The last one is a small piece from a pattern and the flowers and butterfly are from Tim Holtz’s field notes.

Enjoy! Go alter one of those due date pockets!
